The Essence of Translation
If you are a potential purchaser of language services, what are you looking for? You'd expect me to tell you about my emphasis on quality – but to me, that's not a unique selling proposition; it's a necessary ingredient.
A good translation is the result of good communication between the client and the language provider. When you entrust a project to me, I like to know who your audience is, what your timeframe is, and whether a file is part of a larger body of work that you'd like to have or have had translated.
It also helps to know what your desired image is and what voice you would like to project to the outside world. Depending on the nature of the text, I may ask you questions to understand your product or message better.
